This could go very well, or very bad.
Oh god, why?
You can “gentrify” music as much as you like, but nothing will beat Arctic Monkey’s fall from grace...

Why are you so worried about some headphones and Jack Black when the song is great

I think Arctic Monkeys’ songs sound pretty similar, thought it’s a good sound.

::whispers:: I like the new Arctic Monkeys album.

I don’t know what to think about the new AM album yet. Super excited for this Gorillaz one though, need something a little more upbeat after Humanz.

I don’t care for this track.

Daft, the tide goes low before a tsunami, don’t be fooled. We’re yet to hear the rest of the album, though I concede I like the two songs and when they did that thing with converse it wasn’t disastrous. I have faith still.

The first song is promising, so is Lake Zurich. I can say I have a bit more trust in Gorillaz, but it’s easy to fuck up a song for the sake of popularity.

I mean, I can appreciate the lyrics and the vocals, but I’m still playing Favourite Worst Nightmares or older when I listen to them if I’m honest.

The new Arctic Monkeys album is good.

I bought a pair of those Converse.

Me too!

I think it would’ve been better if it actually had guitars.

yeah, this wasn’t a good track. but I haven’t cared for any of the Gorillaz stuff since demon days. Plastic beach was the beginning of the end.

Maybe ... maybe it’s the video I don’t care for. Gorillaz sometimes takes a few listens. It just seems kinda ... boring.

Demon days is incredible, but plastic beach is good of its own right, however. Some of the stuff in Humanz is a bit too much
![]() 06/01/2018 at 15:31 |

I don’t see he fan outrage that I saw with AM, so it cannot be that bad
![]() 06/01/2018 at 15:33 |

right. Plastic beach was listenable, just sub par compared to the first two albums. Humanz... is just trash honestly.. and the fall lies between listenable and trash..

I dislike The Fall to be fair. Some songs from plastic beach are really cool, like To Binge.
Otherwise... humanz, hit and miss. The best songs were the ones released before the full album, if the same strategy is true for The Now Now, it doesn’t seem like something that will be groundbreaking.

Tranquility Base is a very pleasant album to me. It’s a huge departure from their previous stuff in several respects. But I definitely still enjoy the hell out of it.

I can’t bring myself to like it! I heard all of it the day it came out on spotify and I felt... robbed.
Maybe if they make an acoustic version (as in, guitars) it could work for me and still remain pretty chill, they do have an amazing acoustic scene.

There are some, but they’ve definitely taken a backseat to the piano. Honestly, part of why I like it so much is that it’s the first album my girlfriend and I listened to together, but I do think it is genuinely good music.
A band I’ve been recommending to people lately is Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. Their debut album comes out in a couple weeks. This was the first single from it.

Sounds interesting, I’ll put more of their stuff on the song radio when I drive back home tonight.
About AM and acoustic sessions though.
This is amazing:

It’s my bold new strategy for enjoying music: I don’t read about any of the albums I’m excited for.

Cool. They only have a couple of EPs out right now but they’re both good.
That’s cool. I just listened through AM while cutting my grass and then started on the new album. Sound-wise it’s somewhat of a continuation of the second half of AM.

I’m not sure Gorillaz fans ever know what to expect they are all over the map all the time. Humanz had so many different peeps on every track.
