This yellow 458 Speciale came to our show on Saturday. Beautiful car, and the owner was very nice. He knew my friend (the other organizer), so we chatted for a bit. Anyhow, our photographer noticed something I did not see at the time: these two little gunmetal grey bars in either front grill. I’m fairly certain they’re police radar/lidar jammers. Anybody care to concur or offer a different theory?

IIRC they are some kind of cooling ducts which open if more cooling is needed. I believe they are for the brakes.

If the car doesn’t have a forward parking system... it does now!
(Those are laser jammers)

They look like jammers, but why are they silver? Or is that a reflection? I’ve only ever seen black ones.

Well don’t use them on Federal roads, using a radar jammer is a federal offense that can result in a $50,000 fine and/or five years in prison. Then there are local laws, have to check you area. I found this:
While radar jammers are illegal in all 50 states due to federal law, laser jammers/scramblers are regulated by states. Currently, these devices are legal in all states except California , Colorado , Illinois , Minnesota , Nebraska , Oklahoma , South Carolina , Tennessee , Texas , Utah , Virginia and Washington.

Can’t reply to your latest post - would you edit it to add a title, just to see if that’s the issue?

I think the idea is that you’re supposed to scramble them long enough to drop your speed, but not too long, so it just seems like the device was struggling for a moment before it gives the cop a nice, happy, legal speed that you were definitely not doing a moment ago.
