So canada is left with the Mustang as the only ford car for the Canadian market.

Kinja'd!!!

Someone should tell Ford that Small cars with working Transmissions Do sell in Canada. So instead of fixing or getting rid of the PowerShit transmission, ford drops all cars up north.

They’re doing the same in the US.

No USA will get the Focus Active.

So 2 cars for Ford USA

I forgot about that lifted abomination intentionally. It’s really just an Escape with a different hood.

It’s just a regular Focus that has been lifted and plastic body cladding.

Don’t think the Active will even get AWD

That and they should also tell Ford that having overlapping models is also a bad idea.

All they need to do is replace the current Taurus and Fusion with the new Taurus sold in China.

And ditch the Fiesta and Focus Sedan.

That way they have one larger sedan and a smaller hatchback. Doing that alone will simplify the line and likely reduce costs and improve profitability.

I find it’s really odd how the most ‘successful’ car is the ONE car that doesn’t share a platform with other cars. What happened to all the benefits and savings of shared platforms they claimed in the past? They made it sound like they could have all this model variation and overlap and still make money since ‘everything is shared’.

I honestly think they’re shifting even more to a global service mode due to the US administration ignoring the industry. Can’t become isolationist when a global industry actually exists.

The Escape is just a lifted Focus with body cladding and sheetmetal that confuses regulators.

that i get but it at least has different sheet metal and has AWD.

where the Focus Active is basically just a special Trim for the focus.

In theory, the Focus floorpan is designed for AWD, they just don’t make it in AWD outside the RS for some reason. Presumably to force people into a more expensive SUV, because there’s no other reason I can see.

If they sold my car in AWD, I would have bought it with it, even with the amount of power it has.
