It’s been about 9 months since I sold the M3 to get my financial life in order and move on to some more adult habits. I have the car itch bad and these are some of the cars at the forefront of my mind.
2014 Camaro ZL1
2nd Gen CTS V sedan
Ooooor a used 2017 Camaro SS 1LE
All are in the $35k-$40k range for reasonable mileage. Which would you choose and why?

probably a newer SS 1le - I like the looks of the newer Camaro better (atleast pre weird grill refresh...) and both those other cars would have been beat on pretty hard....

I choose D non of the above.

Do you have to have four seats? C7 stingray or c6 z06?
If those cars I’d choose either the Cadillac or the SS (tied based on needs), then the zl1.

None of these cars are that attractive to me, but if I had to take one, I’d take the CTS-V.

CTS-V. More discreet, More practical, better interior, better visibility while still giving you that Supercharged V8 Goodness.
No European or Japanese options?

CTS-V because it has what the Cameros lack: 4 doors, good visibility, and good looks.

No need for back seats. Just not a huge fan of the C6 Vette interiors but having an LS7 is pretty tempting.

Thanks for the input!

Probably the 17 Camaro because I like the new look and the interior. Can’t stand the 14s playskool interior. The Caddy would be cool, though.

I sense a bit of sarcasm. Hahaha
If I had to choose one, I’d go with the 2017 Camaro. Purely because the interior is so much nicer. However although I’m not sure what I’d buy in that price range, in sure it wouldnt be a Chevy.

D. Something not Garbage Motors.
And this comes from a guy with an ls swapped rx7. Get a mustang. Throw boost at it. Coyote motors sound much much better amd they eat boost for all three meals then ask for more.
Or if you really want to be irresponsible get a DSM awd

If their primary goal is performance, what would you buy then that’s between 35 and 40k?

This is a tough call. I’d say drive all three and decide. The ZL1 and cts-v feel similar to me. The ZL1 had somewhat sharper turn in, but was otherwise very similar. The SS 1le isn’t a car I’ve driven yet, but I’ve driven a 1SS with performance options. The car’s performance felt phenomenal, though I wasn’t comfortable with how claustrophobic it felt. Clutch felt strange too.
I would go with a C7 Z51 for that price range. Of the above, I would choose the V. I like the way it looks inside and out the best and I like the seating position the best.
