Now don’t get me wrong - I think the proportions of the BMW E24 are damn near perfect. However, I wonder what one would look like if you chopped the roof, not to a silly degree, but with a greenhouse similar to cars today. Surprisingly I was unable to find any images of such a vehicle on the web and was wondering if someone here with some PS skills could whip up a quick version of what that might look like.

Well, I *like* big greenhouses, so I personally would rather take one of today’s cars and give it a greenhouse (and thin pillars) like that E24.

“I think the proportions of the BMW E24 are damn near perfect.”
I have to agree with you there.

May have been a bit too subtle here

I like big glass and I cannot lie. You other brothers can’t deny. When a car rolls in with not an bit of steel to waste and a greenhouse in your face you get UNSPRUNG!

The thing is, you’d need to raise the beltline AND lower the greenhouse in order to give it more modern proportions. Look at the driver’s shoulder. Think about where the window sill is in a modern car.

As soon as you said chopped top & BMW I thought of Rusty Slammington. Although it is an e28.

I remember following the build on StanceWorks I think? Never seen a car that drew that much hate/love.

Gotta lengthen that trunk a little and you’re right. This almost has the proportions of an E36 Ti...

Of course you did. Both the E24 and the E21 were designed by Paul Bracq. One can’t escape one’s genes.
