Ford officially announced they will run the Mustang in the top level Monster Engery Cup, replacing the two door fusion. Spectators beware. Honestly though I’m hoping they badge is as a GT500 or even a GT350 to compete with the Camaro ZL1

Is the Camaro in the Cup series badged as anything other than just a Camaro? I hadn’t noticed if it has an SS, Z28, or ZL1 badge on it.
I always assumed that there wasn’t a trim level badge on any of these cup cars since they don’t share anything with their road going counterparts besides a name.

Yeah it’s actually badged as a ZL1

I guess I missed that. In that case, I agree that the Mustang should be badged as something more than just a GT.

I would badge it as a base Ecoboost. That way the base Mustang would be as fast as the top trim Camaro

Not only did they badge the Cup car as a ZL1, they did it to differentiate it further from the Xfinity Series car, which is badged as an SS.
