I mean, they’re not wrong, it is less ugly, but in the same way that the Prius was already less ugly than, say, the Youabian Puma. It’s not saying much.

Well, you must admit, it is less ugly . They never said it would be pretty or even presentable.
Now it looks kind of like a Honda Civic from the front.

It looks like they’re not quite ready to give up on modeling their cars by draping and tucking pleated tablecloths over frames.

So Theyre just maiming all of the, Have the Prime front end? Good. Whe the Prime first came out I said they needed to take the front of the Prime and combing it with the rear of the standard Prius and then they’d end up with a good looking car. The stand front end is too pointy, and the Prime rear end is too curvy.

Eventually they will do another remaster of 2 and 3. And I will be SO hyped. My friends and I would play every single day after HS. Level 50s in doubles and slayer! Shit was so serious haha

I still don’t get why the biggest automaker in the world, that once built the 2000GT, thinks that’s the best they can do, while a tiny Estonian outfit in a shed came up with this. I mean, Toyota has access to, and can easily afford to hire, all the best creative minds in the world in the field of auto design, and nobody there seems to understand things like proportions and tasteful restraint.

As I understand, what happened here is basically... the Prime’s design was the intended design, but it couldn’t be manufactured easily right away, so they went with something easier to manufacture for the standard Liftback.
So, makes sense that they’d bring the Prime design changes to the Liftback.
However, there’s also similar rush-job compromises on the Prime itself. The battery was apparently supposed to be half the size, but American dealers convinced them to put an actually useful battery in... but this meant that the packaging didn’t work at all, and they had to remove the rear middle seating position for weight reasons, because it was too late.
What I’d actually like to see is... them do a better job of packaging the rear of the Prime - copy either the Golf GTE/Audi A3 e-tron packaging (fuel tank in cargo area, battery under rear seat), or redesign the rear floorpan to merely lower the battery ala the Hyundai Ioniq PHEV/Kia Niro PHEV. Upgrade the rear suspension to handle more passenger weight. Then, discontinue the Liftback, making the Prime the normal Prius.
