When I was in second grade, in AZ back in 1997, several of my classmates had fathers who served in the Air National Guard in Desert Storm. I remember watching some of the nose cam videos they had brought in for show and tell. One of the pilots had been shot down and had brought a couple of rocks from Iraq and pieces of his plane, as well as the fact he took refuge from the desert sun with his lift raft.

I’m trying to figure out where that is with SAC bombers and blackbirds at the same location. Beale or Edwards maybe?

Google satellite of Beale. Looks like the E-4 had a bit of an accident. Or maybe just marking its territory.

I did a couple of sewer and storm water projets at Beal. It was cool to be out in a field looking for manholes and have U-2's buzzing you all day. My co-worker got accosted by the MP’s one day, we are usually left alone because white male, but he didn’t appreciate looking down the muzzle of 4 M-16's.

Our civilian project managers (NCO’s? is that right?) were fuck wits. Half the time they would forget to get our names on the entrance list at the gate.
