My mom drove one when I was a kid. I drove it only once. What color is the interior? Red, gray or blue?

160k, it has 1 small rust spot on each dog leg, otherwise it has no rust. The underside still has the factory undercoating.

Inside needed a good cleaning and it has some paint peel. The inside is already taken care of. Once the engine swap is done I’ll be fixing the rust and painting it.

All in all for a 95 that I gave $100 for, it’s in awesome shape.

Complete with the 2.5L/3-speed combo?

LOL.

I never go dark enough to affect the light output. The reflectors still work as they should and they’re easily seen.

160,000 miles? That’s nuts. My truck is only like 100,000kms (62K miles).

I can’t even comprehend that kind of mileage.

My van has 225,000 ish on the body. The new drivetrain has 120k. Had 194k when the original trans was finally giving up.

But Chryslers are junk remember.

My most miles to date was 384k on the wife’s 84 F150. Had 87k when we bought it. Only real issue we had with it was a bad starter that took out the flexplate. Otherwise it just had regular maintenance.

I am pretty sure that’s what it was. Fleet spec driver’s ed car, blue on blue. It was fairly new at the time, probably didn’t have more than a couple thousand miles on it.

The trim looks better too. My mom had a rental spec red with black accent interior. So much vinyl sooooo velour. Does it have a 60/40 split bench or center console?

50/50 Split bench.

I added the woodgrain accents from a Lebaron sedan.

Most likely given it was a fleet spec. The 2.5L is surprisingly spunky in them despite only having 100-ish HP. The 3.0 is downright fun.

I don’t recall anything bad about it. It was the first car I ever drove on a freeway. I imagine the 6 might have a little torque steer.

They actually have a pretty good setup on them, so they don’t really. Even my old car never had any noticeable torque steer: https://oppositelock.kinja.com/thought-id-post-up-my-old-acclaim-build-for-everyone-1823032640  That car was estimated around 200-220hp, 220-250ft-lbs (just based off curb weight and vehicles it could outrun+virtual dyno).

My van has some “torque steer”, but it’s really just the ATs pulling it around as they fight for traction.

Yeah, must be something balanced in the front end. I’ve never actually owned a FWD car, but my mom always has one, and I have rented some. A V6 Tempo is another I imagine with torque steer.

Oh yeah, many years ago my brother had a V6 Sundance Duster - that’s one you don’t see every day.

I think it was a really good diff design (outside of the notorious pin shear) that kept them from torque steering.

A guy I talk to pretty regular has a V6 Sundance that’s boosted. Last I knew he was making 550whp from that lowly little 3.0. ;) The car looks like a total beater, but it runs low 11s in the quarter.

I’ve heard those V6 cars could be tuned. My brother wanted to turn his into some kind of autocross rig, but when the engine went, he lost interest. And being from that era (a 93, I think), it was the very period color combo of a kind of dark blue-green with gold trim and beige interior.

The V6s take very well to modding. Simple intake/exhaust on a 3.0 wakes it up tremendously, same goes for the 3.3/3.8 of the era.

Being a 6G72 engine, many Mitsu parts interchange to further bump power, namely pistons and cams from a SOHC 12v Mitsu 6G72 (think Diamante). The larger V6 throttle bodies (chrysler 3.3l/3.8l) are a direct bolt on and help increase intake air, again, increasing power. These net great power gains, cost very little, and are bolt in mods.

Simple old school tricks like removing factory casting flash in the head/manifold ports net great results for minimal work.

Basic NA stuff can easily get them over 200HP. Which doesn’t sound like much, but in a 2,700lb car with over 200ft-lbs over a wide rpm range, it’s enough to surprise many modern “performance” cars.
