I will never own an E38 because if I ever buy a big car it’ll have to be a real SUV, but my god that’s a pretty car. Also who ever took this photo needs lessons, like 10 minutes of YouTube “how to do a photography”.

An E39 is about the same size as a modern 3 series.

A 740i Sport is one of my dream dailys. I’ve only driven an E38 once, but I was hooked. E32s and E38s just make you feel like the coolest car on the road, it fills a prettt different role than an SUV, at least to me

What are examples of a real SUV vs a non-real suv?

There is nothing wrong with the picture. There is probably something wrong with the E38 tho

I don’t live driving big cars so For me if I’m going to deal with the hassle of a big car it should be a more capable car, not just a more comfortable one. That’s said Skychismo has a good point by modern standards the car isn’t all that big.

Real SUV has to be a good tow rig, haul 7 or more people, or be a strong off roader. In very rare instances all of the above.
So real SUVs to me are Wrangler, Excursion, H3 Alpha, any Land Cruiser, or Lexus variant, G Wagon, I’ll include the XJ, and all Grand Cherokee offspring, and the Durango as well. The XJ Is the number one reason I can’t say “body on frame,or die”.
Fake SUVs are Fwd based, like the Highlander, pilots, any Buick, Ford Edge.

Yeah there’s also that, modern cars are so massive that it’s not that big by comparison, but much easier to see out of than any new car

Metaphysical certitude, there. But oh, what a looker.
