Really? This one’s had the crap beat out of it, and it’s a hand-me-down from her older sister (she’s the one who beat it up, the little one is much more mellow).

I once stayed with a family who had a huge cat that came to live with them as a stray. The cat’s name was Big Puddin’, and it spent the majority of its day sleeping on top of one of the floor heating grates.

That’s a great name!

We got Hammer when he was a tiny 1-pound kitten. A friend of a friend of my sister’s found him stuck in an abandoned car in a farm field. Now he’s a freakin’ moose! He spends most of his day sleeping either on the back of the couch, or on the chair in the little one’s room. He’s desperately in love with the little one. Not just because she overfeeds him, she’s really gentle and sweet with him. She loves to tell him he’s a good boy, pet him softly, and give him kisses. The big one tries to pick him up and chase him around the house, he’s not such a fan of the big one anymore.

We had two cats, Baxter and Chessie, who were twins. We got them while we were still living in Houston, long long ago. They were great, but they started getting ill and died soon after our twins were born. We’ve been talking about getting another, but I just don’t like have a box of shit in the house, and there’s no good place to keep it. Maybe we’ll have an outdoor/indoor cat. My boys would love a dog, but our allergies wouldn’t, and I don’t need even more uproar in the house...

Fortunately we have a basement, so the box of shit is down there. Personally, I like other people’s dogs. That way I can give them pets and play a little fetch, and not have to deal with all the other hassle. I see all the people walking their dogs in the dead of winter, and EFF that noise!

I’ve heard much the same thing about being a grandparent. The kids are great, but they go home with their parents.

Yep! I’ve had a couple say that about having kids themselves. Honestly, there’s solid logic in that!

Its the only thing that saves the little scabby barfing bastard.

I have no doubt. Fortunately ours doesn’t barf very often, and usually it’s in the unfinished basement when he does.
