A friend od mine who is car shopping right now just found this manual, W8, 4motion Passat. Neat. Although I can’t incureage this purchase as I’ve hear the W8 are pretty complicated, things like dual alternators, or is it dual water Pumps? and hard to get to... everything. Not a car you want as a DIY project.

That price + aftermarket grille + needing tires, and everything else stock is....worrying

Client of mine had a manual, w8 passat wagon. He kept it in beautiful shape but said that after 7 years of ownership... He was thinking about selling it due to the increasing difficulty to source parts.
I really hope he calls me back so I can see it again

Weren’t fewer than 10 manual W8 wagons made for the US market? That’s a true unicorn!
Edit: guy quoted on old FP article says 9

I couldn’t tell you, but I seem to recall hearing something of that nature from the owner.
Honestly it’s for the best if I never see it again. It would be hard not to put an offer in for something so unique

Yeah I’d image that was a combo you had to special order and really want. It’s not something a dealership would order that’s for sure.

Sorry, thought it was Michigan.
Been finding a lot of good stuff in Michigan lately, which is farther than I want to go for stuff.
