Following last year’s redesign and the addition of the A-Spec sport package, Acura announced the 2019 model will gain a new Platinum White Pearl color, new 19-inch wheels, and a new 2.4-liter A-Spec sport version . The 2.4-liter model is an interesting proposition, especially considering the 206-horsepower engine comes hooked to an eight-speed dual clutch automatic, compared to the V6’s nine-speed auto. Opting for a 2.4 A-Spec will set you back $39,400 plus a $965 destination charge, representing a $6,400 price premium.

Meanwhile, the A-spec suspension for the TSX has been out of production for years, just as I’ve been looking for it. I’m probably just going to get a Modulo suspension from Japan since it’s pretty much the same thing.

What does the V6 A-Spec cost in comparison?

i was about to say don’t attack my gloriously high revving 2.4L VTEC engine like that, but then i saw they lowered the redline
is it even vtec anymore?

that sounds like something aimed at the euro market that acura just decided to dump on the murican market too
over here courtesy of co2 taxes and shit the price difference between the 2.4 and the 3.5 will likely be nearly 40 grand orso

I kept waiting for the turbo punchline but it never came :(
If they would do a true A spec suspension and a 2.4 turbo for 350+hp, that would be a hoot. What even is Acura anymore?

at 206 hp, its the same engine in the ILX and old Si. For those craving the return of the TSX this is it. A 7000 RPM redline is not bad tradeoff for the torque. It’s a thing that you can probably get at deep discount.

That car is a lot heavier than yours too. Your car would be a lot more fun than that “eh spec”.

Same people buying the IS 250 AWD F Sport?

$45,765 for the AWD version. There is aslo a FWD A-spec, yeah I know. Now even the little “exclusivity” you had is gone with also 2.4L 4 clyin A-specs running around.

I was thinking CLA but I guess this is also a fair comparison

I see far too many CLA250's decked out with AMG badges, that’s a great example, too.

I don’t understand the logic of having so many configurations. Same thing with the Ridgeline. There’s 6 different trims. 4 of them can come in FWD or AWD (FWD nets you 1 more mpg = not worth the loss in capability). If they offer a 4cyl, there will be 20 different configurations. Then if you want a specific color, it makes finding the exact one you want near impossible. The dealers end up with so many lower trim FWD models they start heavily discounting them. When someone sees $6k off the MSRP on those, they want $6k off the higher trims too.

Pickup/SUV configurations I understand but I’m genuinely curious who would need or buy a 4 cyl FWD Non-body on Frame “Truck”?

Oh well, crossovers are a different animal. They could put their lawn mower engines in them and people would buy them lol.
I’d still love to see what Honda would do with a 2.4L turbo and a V6 turbo in their Acura offerings.

There’s a market, be it a small one. We had one of these when I was growing up.
