Like cleaning it in 32 degree temps and 20 mph winds in a wash bay by hand and all my additional cleaning. But it needed it and a pending 800ish mile round trip this weekend would make it worse.

That is an excellent shade of red. I have seen plenty of red FOST’s but I havent seen this shade before. And with the extra clean, it sure looks sharp. The unfortunate part about how you just cleaned it is how you then said 800 mile road trip in the winter. Hopefully you dont end up driving through much salt otherwise the dirtiness would make me cry after all of that cleaning effort! I have no excuse for why I haven’t given my STi a proper clay and wax though, just laziness. Its never winter in Socal so the deep clean would actually last a good amount of time. Claying is such a pain to do but it is SOOOOOOOOOO worth every bit of effort.

Look into some of the more modern clay bar alternatives. I’m yet to try them, but every time I mention clay barring I get a million comments telling me that there are much better options now that are super quick and easy to apply!

Give the Mother’s Speed Clay 2.0 a try. I did a quick go with it on my 4Runner that hadn’t been washed in about a year and it did a good job.

I’ll be driving to Nashville, with the rains yesterday any leftover salt is now gone for the season I think. However, I’ll still be doing the full detail next weekend. I bought it at the end of January and haven’t been able to get a clay and seal in because of weather, so that will be included next weekend. I traded in my kona blue ST strictly for the color. It’s amazing, and I actually haven’t seen another yet. Itll get dirty from the drive but I doubt it will see a lot of salt, thankfully.

I feel like we’d be good friends if I was in the UK. My grandparents are actually from the UK, so I’m not too far off (met in WWII). I’ve been quite a few times, I’ll be there in September for a few days on the way to Oktoberfest in Munich!

I do have a mother’s clay, I ought to try the speed kind since I do like the one I have its just effort.
