A elderly nice gentleman in a pretty BMW 3 series didn’t see me stop. I feel kinda bad I gave a lot worse than I got.
Sometimes it’s good to drive the beater. I wonder if I can bend that back. It’s been rusted solid ever since I owned it.

I think you’re going to find you’re going to have to replace a large majority of it...

I would have the rear bumper checked for damage, sometimes they flex in and back out

A tow hitch on a Crown Victoria interceptor? That’s an odd choice.

might be able to bend it back.... but it may be prone to sudden failure if you use it to tow anything after that
looks like it played merry hell on whatever its mounted to rather than bending the hook tho

That sucks, man. “Didn’t see you stop” is a pretty lame excuse, considering that you were right in front of him.
It looks like more than just the ball-mount is bent here. The receiver hitch might have taken the brunt of it, but there’s a chance that it might have tweaked the frame a little too. Needs a closer look. I doubt that the frame’s bent in any way that will affect drivability, but this definitely downgrades your tow rating. :(

Lol never even used it oh well.

Came from the auction that way. I thought odd too.

Yeah it’s pretty toast. Might just take it all off. I never used it.
Can’t leave it the way it is. It almost looks like a dog squatting at certain angles.

It to help them tow all the goodies they confiscate

Yeah I think it’s all toast better to just take it all off. I never used it. Doesn’t drive any different. At least it served it’s purpose

It could probably protect the bumper a second time... if you were willing to drive around with it looking like that while waiting for another hit.

It bugs me. Looks like a dog taking a poo at certain angles. Might just cut the bent part off and call it a day.

It’s April fool’s day, hang some balls under it.
Stand on it, that f’ed over rejected by Dodge sheet metal will bend.

yeah - the dude basically rear-ended a police cruiser...
Silver lining? It improves your rear approach/departure angle!

That’s how they tow those speed radar trailers into place.

Maybe used to tow those tiny municipal trailers, like the ones that house the you are going xx mph lcds or something?

Exactly or a light boat. It came out of a rural county.

“Didn’t see you stop” is a pretty lame excuse, considering that you were right in front of him.
“Didn’t see you stop” should be legally synonymous with “I was operating a motor vehicle while paying zero attention to my surroundings.”

Hilarious, isn’t it? It’s like it’s meant to be some kind of defense, but it’s really an admission of guilt.

It’s like it’s meant to be some kind of defense, but it’s really an admission of guilt.
It’s one step away from saying “It’s not my fault I crashed, I was drunk!”.... which amazingly IS a valid legal defense in some countries.
