My graphics card died :(
The past couple of times playing American Truck Simulator I got horizontal lines across the screen and would freeze up and had to reset the PC. One time the motherboard GPU light flashed red.
Today I updated the video drivers, and ran Furmark a GPU stress test and it did fantastic. Got it up to 188 degrees with no problems! Came home from work and once I turned on the PC the light would stay red. Tried other PCI x16 ports and same stuff. Glad I have an Intel integrated GPU or I’ll be without a working PC!
A nice looking paperweight
This is actually the second time I replaced this card. 1st time on lifetime warranty and now 3 years later this one died.
Thinking about going to Nvidia with my current i7 2700k build. and keep the replacement comparable to the power of the HD7870.

Just buy a 1050ti, you’ll be running things buttery smooth, it sips power (iirc the Ti only requires the 6-pin on some obnoxiously high powered models) and is equivalent to the GTX 960 in performance. It’s also modern. http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti-vs-AMD-HD-7870/3649vs2161

I suppose you could say the GPU.... *puts on sunglasses* Ghosted itself.

I’m still waiting for AMD to get their game together and release cheapened versions of Vega 56/64 units dedicated to mining only, and saying to retailers “Yes let them buy any number of these damn things”
