And before someone says it, no I don’t mean the drums.

It sounds like a Hammond organ set to play like a baritone or bass saxophone with the distortion cranked up.

That was going to be my guess.

Can you make an accordion sound like this?

I cheated.
I find the instrument in question terribly interesting.

I think you probably could if you hook it up to a guitar amp.

I can’t say for sure from this video, but based on some of their others, I’m going with bass clarinet and a shitload of distortion.

Well at first I thought Hammond organ with some crazy distortion, then I thought contrabass sax, but a look at the comments tells me I was still wrong. That sounds pretty awesome. That has to take a lot of lung capacity!

It’s a fascinating instrument for sure, and makes quite the unique sound. It’s hilarious when they first bring it out at a show and everyone just goes WUT

Pretty much exactly what I would guess. Although I would go so far as to say it’s studio-doubled, bass clarinet with contra clarinet parallel, or possibly bass sax. (I mean, let’s be honest, Ttyy. Once you go any bigger than a contra alto clarinet/bass sax/contrabassoon, all of the highly-obscure super-low woodwinds pretty much sound EXACTLY the same. And I say that as someone who specialized in multi-woodwind doubling in college.)
