Sure but what about Stargate Atlantis

Well, I mean, it started strong, but I wasn’t thrilled with Ford’s subplot denouement, and the constant “MY PEOPLE DO THINGS LIKE BLERDEHBLAH” from Tayla and Ronon’s writing always seemed to focus on thugging it up instead of sneaky smarts, and then by the third season or so it seemed like the Wraiths just got too camp to support the series, and...

I may have revealed too much.

It really doesn’t start out epic. It’s pretty awesome by the start of season 2, though.

I caught the first season, then I lost the station carrying it (or interest, one of the two).

SG1 was deep into season 3 I think by the time we got SciFi, and I couldn’t be bothered getting up to speed, so I skipped it. Same with Atlantis, IIRC. I decided I had to get in to the next series on the ground floor, so I started watching Universe on the first day, which turned out really well ....

Farscape is the last thing from SciFi (back when it was spelled correctly) that I paid attention to. Until Dark Matter , which I am binge watching now, and is not owned by SciFi, and is now cancelled anyway.

I know you’re not gonna agree with me, but I fucking hated Harvey. The only good part was him getting tossed into the dumpster.

I liked Harvey as a plot device (thing driving Crichton crazy and trying to force his submission to Scorpius’ plans) and as a wacky insane thing on the show, but I will admit those things were frequently at cross purposes. A neural clone going insane but retaining purpose takes some of the fun out of the going insane, and a malign influence being “wacky” is hard to do with a subtle touch. The “Q” option of the unknown factor doing odd things “because I can” or for the lulz is easier to make work.

Harvey possessing John... not as fun, hurts the role of Harvey as comic relief, and is a little off due to the Harvey we know. Chilling, but slightly difficult plot-wise. Harvey in Peacekeeper Wars as Einstein/Strangelove: a scene that was too short, because the potential was great, and it actually worked for both roles.

Basically, it was overused and overplayed.

I don’t necessarily agree, but since Harvey’s role was mostly *for* John’s character development and not his own, some scenes might have been hearing voices instead - anywhere the Harvey scene broke the flow. Or, more actual *fights* with Harvey. An insane camp hallucination with minimal purpose can still be menacing.
