The Beau James had Pappy’s eye, my grandfather and a die-hard GMC truck man, but he never bought one. His style was plainer Jane. I remember us passing a Beau James on the road once and Pappy commenting on what poor gas mileage they got: like 6 mpg or something. I’d have been nine or ten.
