This one really fucks some people up here. When it’s used as a travel lane you can’t make lefts at intersections. There’s only two streets that do this, and sometimes gps programs get it wrong and tell people to make illegal turns.

there’s a couple of roads with the alternating middle lane in Melbourne too.

Melbourne has trams running around the CBD, so the only way to keep them running smoothly is to make cars turn right from the left lane. trams go down the centre of the roads.
