A Foden DROPS truck, built for the British military. Parked out front of a military props rental shop today, along with a Stewart-Warner and a couple G-Wagens that are usually there.

On mobile with my night mode setting active that first pick makes it look like that truck is carrying the entire building.

It probably could carry a large portion of the building

She hasn’t changed much since leaving the U.K.
She’s a Foden 8x6 DROPSD IMMLC support truck.
DROPS, Demountable Rack Off Pickup System,
IMMLC, Improved Medium Mobility Load Carrier,
10 ton payload.
Needs a roof mounted gun.

I found it’s ancestor

I used to see Fodens quite often when I was a kid.
They always looked a little different.

God I wonder what the turning radius on that thing is compared to the US’s equivalent.

Is that in Burnaby? Crazy

North Van, industrial area south of the tracks, almost under the second narrows

That is a test I want to see

The Foden 8x6 is 31' long, 9.5' wide and 11' high.
From what I’ve gleaned the turning circle is 27 metres.

I only know about them because I was reading about their weird two stroke diesel, and finding videos of the sound

It’s a classic sound.

EDIT: Apparently the payload is 17.5 tons.

If you ever get bored and want to go ex-British military shopping, check Witham.

That model was even sold with Foden’s own two stroke.

Sounds like this would be fun Top Gear or Grand Tour show...each guy picks one from a different country and do their thing (even seeing how fast they are around the track lol)
