Birthday is in 3 months, working late into the night at the new firm is paying off. Chopard Mille Miglia, 50% retail price, can pay for it either in full or in 3 installments with 0% interest. Should I?

Its your birthday, do it! And even if it wasnt, Id still say, do it! Do it!

Don’t do it if your first luxury. If not then sure.

Can you wait 3 more years and pick it up as a Certified Pre Owned off-lease return for 75% off?

Chopard makes a nice and very decent watch but their resale values are atrocious (not in small part due to major discounting on retail prices). Personally I’d look elsewhere. What’s in your collection right now?

No.
Chopard is not particular innovative as for as watchmaking goes and you can have your pick at that price range.

Tag Heuer Carrera Classic, Tag Heuer Formula One, Rolex Day-Date, Breitling Shark Chrono Auto and a Longines Hydroconquest. The Mille Miglia is just a watch that I always wanted

Thats a solid rotation. Ever think of going vintage?

I have a couple of classic Omegas too, a Mk 4.5 Speedy and a 1969 Dynamic. Analogshift is a daily visit for me.

In 3 years I’m going to make a ton of other watch purchases.

Not at 50% off, a new race inspired auto chrono for 4,2k? You can’t even get a garden variety Rolex for that.

Moon watch. At least it will hold its value. The chopard watch won’t be worth $2100 in 2 years.

I have a Mk 4.5 Speedy and a Dynamic, my Omega fix is covered.

I have another suggestion then: go vintage. I don’t mean used, I mean real vintage stuff. Look into analog/shift and other reputable vintage dealers. I have been on a vintage kick lately.
