Spotted this on my way home the other day in the semi-rural coastal community of Mill Cove / Aspotogan (First Nations name - pronounced ‘As-po-tawg-an’) here in Nova Scotia. My brother and I were carpooling as we were sub-teaching at the same school for the day and I had to do a stop mid-sentence and a double-take at what I’d just seen. Sure enough, it WAS what I thought it was!
I’ve never seen one before in person and, considering they are kits from the States, they are rare in general, let alone seeing one here in ‘middle of nowhere’ Nova Scotia, Canada! Sorry for the crappy dashcam pic!
Anybody recognize it yet? :P

It’s a Smyth Ute conversion kit on a 1999-2004 Jetta! Looks like the owner had a pretty respectable job done it on! :)
I’m not a VW guy, but even I still have to admit it’s pretty cool!

I dunno, I saw some interesting cars when I was in Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg!
I didn’t take photos other than this one though.

Neato! Those kits look pretty thorough. Too bad they don’t have a Mustang kit. There’s a guy on one of the Mustang forums looking to do something like this to his SN95.

Ah cool, I know that Willys! There are two other fellows around Lunenburg who DD an all-metal Willys like the one in your pic and a Willys pick-up of the vintage in your pic as well! I don’t have any pics of them though! :(
Did find this pic of the exact pickup on Pinterest though!

Nope! Who knows, maybe they will develop one at some point! They seem to stay with sedan and hatchback conversions though, it seems!

Until I zoomed in, it looked like a Proton Jumbuck.

Which is something we never got here!
