I like the fact they gave it a Tacoma(ish)

Ehhhhhh. Anyone can hire a designer who knows what they’re doing. Toyota finally decided to do so. I love old Japanese machinery (I still own an old Honda motorcycle), but the new stuff coming out of Japan (minus the styling) is bland as hell compared to what they used to make.

I am currently repairing an out of warranty modern BMW, so Toyota/Lexus blandness does have some benefits when compared to their competitors...

I’ll bet they loose some folks to vehicles with more traditional “car” styling, (Honda, CX5, new Forester, etc.) Rav4 owners run a bit conservative in comparison to the whole sector - you are messing with their rig.

Lose the “let’s pretend it’s floating” roof, or do it right like an FJ, Land Rover, or Mini where just the top plane is a separate color. And maybe level out those headlights? Then I’d be more OK having to look at it on the road. But overall, much improved over the current one.
