some times I just drive up to the shop and introduce myself, sometimes I make friends with a crazy old hot rodder.
55 chev and 59 ford. Those things got a running hemi between them?
36 chev “Parts Runner”, yes that’s what you think it is.

Valve covers on the 348/409 are pretty unmistakeable.
Love the decor - and that this guy is into all of the Big 3.

Or when you could buy a car with a cool name like Jetstar 88 or Barracuda or Firebird or many many others. We still have cool names like mustang and charger, but those are retro.

If you look really close at the W motor valve covers on the, there’s no little raised bowtie on them, Making them the the Canadian version for use in chev or Pontiac (409 was the top 2 or 3 engine options on my old straight 6 Pontiac Strato-Chief.)

You mean the ones on the wall, of course, right? I hadn’t looked closely - my screen resolution isn’t that great.
That’s pretty neat, though, didn’t realize there was a difference! And, I gotta believe that Canadian W-motors are rare beasts!

My dad had a ‘57 Fairlane with a 312 Thunderbird Special in it. Damn I wish he still had that. He parked in a field at my grandfather’s farm and left it there when the farm was sold.
