My uBlock didn’t catch the ad, it still appeared anyway. In fact, GMG puts up ads that say “we see you’re using an adblocker” and this Tempest ad seems to be using the same coding.

Then they wonder why people run ad blockers on their pages. It’s like they think people like autoplay videos and crap like that. If they would just make the ads less obnoxious then I could whitelist them again, but the powers that be seemed convinced that pissing off their readers is a better strategy.

I installed a network-wide ad blocker at home about a week ago and absolutely love it. Makes Jalopnik and other sites much better.
Makes me cringe when I leave the house and browse on mobile, so many ads again...
