Test & Tune was a success. My new front

swaybar has tamed the body roll significantly and made the car a lot more neutral. (shout out to Jake for the pictures)

The GLA AMG was neat, but I can’t figure out its market. Is it supposed to be a $57k Focus RS competitor? Who spends another $15k for this? The interior was full on boy racer in this one.

The Mercedes comes with a Mercedes AMG badge, which is worth waaayyy more then a Ford RS badge. Plus, it’s probably easier to live with; there’s a reason there are numerous RS’s on the market with under 5k miles on them.

Used GLA AMGs are going for $36k while used RSs are going for $33k, that badge ain’t holding its value that well.

They’re great. Luckily I helped set up the course the day before so I could bed my existing Hawk pads in with the new rotors, because the first time I got on them hard while testing the course I didn’t stop very well. Now that I’ve got them broken in they’ve been great.

GLA makes even less since when you realize it uses the old version of Haldex as well. If it had the modern system like in Audis I could justify that price.

I’m looking at buying new pads and front rotors for the Mini this week. I’ll get the centric cryo rotors but i’m not sure about the pads, so:

Do you run Hawk HPS or Hawk performance ceramics?

How do the perform on the street (braking performance when the pads and rotors are cold)?

I run the HPS’s, my experience has been really good with them. They perform well in the cold, and honestly produce significantly less dust than whatever the pads that were originally on the car.
