Kinja'd!!!

Back in 2008 I had a Facebook account. It was created using a yahoo account.

I closed (deactivated - delete FB wasn’t an option then). Year or two ago I closed my yahoo account.

My friends this weekend asked me if I was back on Facebook because my account was active again - not me.

So apparently someone is using my yahoo account to reset password for facebook account and reactivate it. If yahoo account is active, I should be able to log into my yahoo account.

Yahoo is saying account is not recognized. When i try to create my old account, it says its in use. Either yahoo is hacked again... or Facebook is doing some shady shit. Fuck em both.

So if FBI takes me to Guantanamo bay for some crazy FB posts, send cookies with files.

you would think when you tell them you no longer want it, after several days, data gets deleted. Nope. Still living in FB world. Still able to reactivate it.

I would think that is you could hack into Facebook you would be able to change the password reset email. Plus couldn’t you just go into Facebook with the username and password to reactivate the page.

Also, Facebook is terrible and garbage and awful.......

If you could delete FB data then they wouldn’t be able to sell it.

The password reset is going to yahoo account which I can neither reactivate or access or even attempt to log into.

I emailed facebook telling them my account is being used by someone else. We’ll see where that goes. Probably nowhere.

Yeah... but who wants my 10 year old data from 2008? Sure. Some friends are still connected to that account and few old pictures on there of me. Good luck making money on it.

it’s an image off internet, but it appears to be a slab of pork belly with a briefcase handle attached to it.

https://www.facebook.com/login.php?next=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fhelp%2Fdelete_account That’s the link for deletion.

Not everything is deleted. https://www.facebook.com/help/250563911970368?helpref=hc_global_nav

They make it very difficult to find those two pages within facebook.

Yahoo was hacked a few years ago too...

I know yahoo was hacked. I don’t know if my fb account was reactivated because of yahoo or because of facebook’s recent fumble.

Back in 2008, there was no delete option. so you hoped they would delete it once you deactivate it. nope. not the case.

To prove identity you must submit photo id. Do you trust them having your photo ID when they are fumbling with keeping data to themselves? I don’t but what choice do i have?

I wasn’t really referring to your 10-year-old data, just the way FB uses one’s data in general.
