Just sitting around my apartment eating the most glorious cheesy substance known to man. AMA.

Finally—FINALLY—I get my order for Torchy’s queso with no guacamole sans any shred of avocadoey goop in the middle. I don’t know what’s up with everywhere in Austin putting guacamole in queso by default, but as a hater of avocado, it’s dang tough.

Came home, devoured all the queso, sorry, not sorry. It was cheesy perfection. The only possible way to make it better would’ve been to skip the chips and hand me a spoon.

MMMM Torchy’s ... the Alamo Drafthouse used to make one with brisket instead of guacamole that was pretty good.

Where did this hate of avocado come from?  is delicious.

If anyone should hate them, it should be someone that grew up where they grew and lived near a tree (like me). I’ll tell you, a lot of rotting avocado does make you question it, but guacamole is so delicious that I got over it.

Then again, those Texans do terrible things to Mexican food, so maybe you’re not getting real guacamole here.

Torchy’s queso is the bomb!

I’m sure you’re glad you don’t have to pay extra for guac everywhere. The rest of the sane population is up in arms about not having guac in all dishes, like god intended.

That’s queso heeeeere. A dip, made of vaguely liquidish white or yellow cheese with tomatoes and peppers in it, and perhaps other spicy stuff if you want to get super fancy.

I’ve had most varieties and wouldn’t kick any type off my table. It’s like pizza, so many varieties, all pretty good haha. The runny white kind, typically found in the southern Midwest is my jam though haha
