There’s a big difference between functional hardware and decorations meant to imitate functional hardware. I can give some decorations a pass when they are applied correctly. It appears this guy doesn’t even know what that piece of chrome is supposed to be imitating.

Give him a break, poor guy’s A/C broke.
Clearly that’s what the vent is for, routing fresh air into the cabin.

I’m guessing about half the stick-on cowl vents I’ve seen have been on something other than the quarter panels. It’s mind boggling.

Perhaps that’s the case. If so, it would be more effective if he were to re- position the exhaust vent closer to the door handle and add a fresh-air intake to the lower-front portion of the door just behind the wheel.
