... to Nick Bought An Exocet.... A 3/4 finished Exocet. Needs a lot of finishing but I’m soooooo excited. Need to sort out how to get it from the seller’s place to my own, but the bill of sale is done and most of the money has been transferred.
Now that of course begs the question: Nick - what will you do with your $950 Miata?
Easy answer: Keep it. I’ve been dailying it and that has been standing in the way of buying the kit from Exomotive. When the car I bought today popped up for sale, it opened up worlds of possibilities.

Congrats! Having some work left to do isn’t too bad of a thing if all the heavy lifting around getting the chassis and drivetrain put together has been done. Mine was 100% roadworthy when I got it, but now that I’ve had some time to poke around it, there are definitely a few minor things I’d have done differently (mostly around part selection, plumbing, and wire management that are fine as-is but could have been done a lot better).
In any case, I’m still having a stupid amount of fun with mine, and hopefully you do too once you get yours up and running. It does come with a few more hassles (mostly in the form of proactive checks to perform) than the average Miata, but the payoff is more than worth it IMO.

That’s great to know. I’m looking forward to getting my hands into it. I have a ton of ideas. It will never be “done” and I’ve fully internalized that. At this point, the focus on “road legal” and making it so I don’t have to redo a ton of stuff later.
