Took a fair amount of digging, as many of you correctly stated, it was high-centered and the wheels just kept spinning. This calls for a Taco Bell run.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Main road to my house was closed so I took the unplowed alleyway and now there is a BMW stuck there. I dug it out a bit and threw some salt down, along with the sun it should be out of there in a few hours. Well, time for a drink.

Somewhere I have a picture of my 325xi plowing through 18" of snow - I even won a photo contest on a forum with it, which set me up with a free set of brake rotors. That was quite light and fluffy snow, but it also busted through a pile left by a plow that was well over the hood. With a little momentum, of course.

I blame your tires, and the fact that the snow was quite dense. The only time I’ve been stuck in my xi was in conditions like that - driving through an area where it hadn’t been plowed and the snow was dense, high-centering the car, essentially.

You know the only way that was going to work was to employ the rally mantra of, “when in doubt, flat out!”

The tires are trash, old blizzaks. There is also ice underneath all of the snow which doesn’t help.

I’m gonna let everything melt a little and go back to see if I can get it out. It was fine the other day when the snow was fresh but, the stuff it’s in is melted and refrozen a few times.

They are snow tires, not perfect but have been fine until right now.

haha yup that will do it. I will need new snows before next winter. It’s been fun having nearly bald snows, though. Still better than all-seasons, but easier to get sideways.

I keep an old half-broken old shovel in my car, one with no bend at all so I can get it under the already-low car, if I get high-centered like that. I haven’t needed it in a while, but it’s there.

“That’s weak Brah, I drove my 700HP Nitrous boosted bagged Drag-Mustangamaro with summer performance tires which are basically racing slicks through 18 inches of Michigan snow just last night. I was literally laughing all the way seeing all theses Subarus and Jeeps with their fancy 4x4s and winter tires stranded on the side of the Highway. It’s all about skill and power. Peace ”

I should’ve had the Stang out, wouldn’t have gotten stuck like this German POS.

I’ve got a 2006 Dodge Magnum RT AWD with studded Winterforces and this is my third winter with it, not a single thing has been able to slow it down. My wife has a 2016 Outback and even she prefers going places in the Magnum when the weather is bad. Sorry to see you stuck bud, I always thought the AWD BMWs were pretty decent in the snow, that’s what I’ve heard before anyways.

Just from looking at the picture, the street looks clear enough that it’s probably kinda warm-ish out which has made the snow wet & dense, plus the snow in front of the car is flattened like the center of the car dragged over it.

Exactly. Plus, icy ground underneath it all! Not helping.

E46's are very low, and everything under there is packed in tight. You have to drop the exhaust to get to the drive shaft, etc.

I use the Taco Bell app to veganize my order, which often results in more customizations than the Taco Bell employees know how to correctly interpret. Sometimes I end up with what I intend, other times I don’t.

I have some 5 year old Blizzak WS70's with about 15k on them and I noticed this year a huge drop off in performance. My car is 2wd and I need every ounce of traction I can get. Getting high centered is a thing, I’ve done it numerous times, I’m really good at it, even in high clearance 4wd’s.

Taco Bell app? This changes everything, I usually just get normal ass tacos but now I might branch out.

It’s pretty sweet, you pick and choose what you want, submit your order, and pay thru the app. Then when you arrive at the store you tap a button to pick it up either at the drive thru or inside. You tell them you’re picking up a mobile order for your name and they hand you your stuff.

The thing that trips them up the most is when I order a seven layer burrito, no cheese, no sour cream, add black beans & potatoes. I want both refried and black beans, but half the time they think I mean black beans instead of refried beans.

Also if you pick up in store then play dumb like you forgot to order a drink they often just give you a cup for free.
