Just a thought on the Uber driverless car accident article on FP. Gremmie for your time
Regardless of the circumstances of the accident, it seems unethical for Jalopnik to release the driver’s image and name when he has yet to be charged/named at fault for the accident. This poor dude could be blameless, but now his reputation has been publicly damaged.

I was close to making a meme about this, since this story is all Jalopnik seems to be talking about. They’re also acting like this is the end of the world.

The Tempe police department released all the info. Not sure if you could argue ethics on the FP distribution of it.

The footage speaks for itself. Why wait for charges to be filed?

I am just disappointed Ford is not going to start building trains and trolleys.

Wasn’t the driver a woman?
Doesn’t have any bearing on whether it was fair to post, but still.
In any event, I think it was ok. Not great, I mean I wouldn’t want want a video of me working released, and it might have been fine to just acknowledge that the driver wasn’t paying attention at the time of the crash, and they did know they were being filmed, so it’s not like there was an expectation of privacy.

I think the car is eventually going to become sentient and start murdering everything. It’s a good thing it was stopped before it could take anybody else out.

Driver? Just what do you think driverless means? ;)
