I feel like emblazoning this slogan over a picture of children maybe wasn’t the best idea.

It’s quite inspiring once you click on it, but on first glance... Yeah... child relations online is not a good look

Why?
*Edit
There’s a difference between romantic love and love. Why would you assume a picture of children is referring to romantic love? The ad is about bias and descrimination and isn’t creepy at all. Assuming it’s referring to romantic love is creepy. Making a joke about it referring ro romantic love is also creepy.

“pedophile” is a label.

Correction: Gawker is running a new ad.

Are you by any chance a member of NAMBLA?

I liked the original (a black girl and white girl couple making a heart with their hands) and the John Cena versions more.
I mean, these are literally the only ads I see on any Kinja site...I guess Univision knows me well.
This version appears to be promoting friendships that don’t have labels, rather than their normal romantic variety. But yeah, on first glance it looks really weird.

If that text was included then it would be creepy. Most people don’t assume love means romantic love, especially when pictures of children are present.

True though that may be, keep in mind that we’re talking about the internet here.

I’m not the one associating romantic love with a picture of children.

Ding ding, love isn’t just romantic. I love everyone, but I’m not dating everyone.

Very true. A whole generation of people have been raised on the internet which explains their screwed up views on love/relationships/romance. This isn’t directed at you, just a general observation.

When I see the word “love”, romantic love comes to mind first and platonic love second. I blame the media and being hopelessly single.

Fair enough! I usually think romantic love first too, which is why I was like “woah” the first time I saw it. Then I remembered that there’s more than one way to love someone. lol

“Lover of children”?

The ad is not wrong, in its intent nor its delivery of the message.
That said, you’re not wrong either.
I think we’ve abused the word “love”. It means too many things.

Being hopelessly single may be a result of this view. Not bashing you, just offering up a bit of advice.
Agreed on the role of media in promoting this view.

They need to label their no labels better.
Maybe go with “Agape knows no labels”
But if you know what ‘Agape’ means, then you’re probably not the target audience for this ad campaign.

I’ve had to start using reader view on Jalopnik articles with the original version of that ad. I don’t have a problem with the ad itself; I do have a problem when I have to scroll past the same exact ad six times though. It makes me crazy!
