so last night was fun. My son woke up at 1am crying. He came into our bed where he puked. My wife picks him up and he pukes again, over her shoulder and into the floor heating vent. fuck this. I made coffee this morning and from moving it around the water tank had become dislodge, so when i got out of the shower the water had leaked all over the place.

I know that feeling. Hang in there. Usually you get a second wind mid-morning that’s just enough to get through day.

I find snacking to be more effective at keeping me awake and energized than caffeine and without the crash. So get some chips or a big bag of grapes haha.

Ugh. This nice lady brought a cup of coffee for you. I’m sure that if you’re kind to her, she’ll bring a refill, too:

I remember the first time my daughter threw up. She was two, and it was somewhere around 2 or 3am. Poor thing had no idea what was going on.
“Daddy, I spit”.
It’s ok, sweetie.
“Daddy, I spit a lot”
-reaches out to brush her hair back and get a fistful of chunky vomit- ‘ohhhhhh’

I was a bit confused reading your post, the first time throwing up and she could talk that good? Then I remembered my daughter gets carsick, most people don’t, and that’s why she knows what happens before she could really talk, and is pretty much the only time she throws up. Any trips longer than 10 minutes or so are fun if she doesn’t fall asleep.

yea he is 16 months, i dont think he was even aware of what happened. With all the lights on, by the time we were cleaned up and the bed was remade he wanted to jump around

Yeah, she’s four now and has only done it that one (well, three, technically) time. My boy is 2.5 and never has, knock on wood.

Glad he took it well. Ours was old enough to be freaked out, too young to understand

The worst puking incident happened while I was dead asleep. My daughter snuck into our bed and snuggled between us. My back was to her, her back was to her mother. When she let it go, it was all over my neck. The volume was so great that it went over my neck, dousing me front and back. That was not a pleasant way to wake up.
