Am I doing this right?

I was going to say yeah apart from the angry orchard, but then I remembered you might have celiacs. So yeah, you’re doing it right.

I mean, I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t stick cider in your car...

The alcohol to oil ratio is all sorts of wrong. Plus you have a Subaru so you should have two of those jugs for the in between oil change, oil change. So that means even more alcohol. Maybe enough to make you forget the oil change and get to it “tomorrow”

0-20 yummmm. Got to buy in bulk for the Subaru.

Yeah. Not me personally but it’s in the house so no gluten. Unfortunately Wal-Mart is pretty much the only place open at this hour on a Sunday and that was the only cider they had. :(

Should have some towels to soak up oil spills :)
If you don’t have any already.

I don’t have a jack that fits under the front of my car so I have yet to try the oil change and beer combo.

Downeast is my personal favorite. I highly recommend it if you see it.

I see no Hot Wheels or Matchbox.
Go back and fix that.

Damn good catch. Usually I do grab one.

Reason for oil change needing to be tonight: oil light just came on in my Forester. The one that had the short block replaced 13k ago. But I’m a hair over 6k. Was going to do it next weekend but it got pushed up to tonight.

One nice thing about both my Forester and Outback is no jack required. Enough ground clearance to get to the drain plug and the filter sits on top.

They live on my jack lol:

I used to just wiggle under my old Outback. I’m a twig but I’m not quite thin enough to fit under a Mini.

Oil light meaning the pressure??

...I don’t see a filter?

I can do my MINI with just a jack because I can easily reach the plug without getting under. Only need the jack to get the pan under ha.

I do so when they have what I like.

My issue is that my jack is about 2 inches to tall to fit under the front bumper. It just barely squeaks under the front jack point on the sides.

I had that catch pan. Not a bad design, but pretty tall. I’d happily take a shorter version with half the capacity.

Ah, I forgot it was a family member, I assume the wife.

And daughter but if she was drinking we’d have a whole different set of issues to be worried about.

So actually I bought that tonight to replace the shorter version. (You want mine? I can still pull it out of the trash!) The issue I had is the shorter one also has a shorter lip. My cars dump their oil too fast even when cold for it to keep up and I cleaned up two big spills in my garage before saying fuck it and buying the big one. Tonight only spillage was my idiocy dropping the drain plug and splashing it.

Good observation. I use OEM and pick up several at a time at the dealer. I do that for two reasons. One, I also like to replace the crush ring on the drain plug every oil change. I could probably use any 17mm crush ring, but the OEM ones look a little different and to me it’s worth the $2 for cheap insurance. Two, a lot of the aftermarket filters that fit the FB25 are shorter than the Subaru ones. Now they might me a better internal design, but the possibility that they might have less filtering surface area inside bothers me a little.

That moment when you realize there is a LaCroix flavor you’ve never tried. BRB going out for passion fruit sparkling water.

Take my word for it.
It’s the best flavor.
I go through a 12 pack a week.
Out of every flavor, it’s the only one that deserves this:

Oil level. Hopefully I am understanding right but a lot of modern Subaru’s have both an oil level light and an oil pressure light which is taking some getting used to for me - I’ve typically only seen oil pressure in the past. Sad when your brand has such a history of oil consumption that you add a light for it.

I had an autoparts store catch pan the pour cap broke the 2nd time I used it. Now I used a wallyworld 10 liter storage bin.

I accidentally melted mine.

That what I loved about owning a lifted Jeep TJ on 35s.
No jack required, unless you have to remove a tire to do something

Update: I need to go to Publix tomorrow to pick up another 12-pack.
I just ran out today.
I’ll probably get a hot wheels M2 if I can find one.
