Jaguars are beautiful. Sexy even. But their reputation for electronics is.... sketchy. So if I’m going to buy an electric car, I have to admit Jaguar will have to convince me they can pull it off. Then again, I’d buy an I-pace before that monstrosity of an i3.

Oh good, they found a way to make a Jag more unreliable.

IMHO, Jaguar’s two hallmarks have “switched”.
Their cars are now more uglier, but their electronics are, comparably, way more reliable.

Just keep your wiring harness smoke well stocked at all times and you’ll be OK.

Yes, I too was wondering how they’d raise the bar

Although the rear is a little funky looking, so much want. Want. Want. Want.
Afraid of reliability, but could it possibly be worse than Tesla? On the plus side, they can probably pull off better build quality...

Uh, electric car drivetrains are so simple that it’d be hard to mess it up too much. You’re taking almost all of the stuff that goes wrong (engine) out of the equation. This could easily be the most reliable Jaaag in history.

Watch as Jag suddenly flips their reputation around, but only with electric cars.
I mean, there’s no oil or coolant to spray everywhere in a parking space...

True, but there is so much more smoke to try to keep in the wires.

Two words: Lucas Electrics.

The wires are pipes. They merely ferry the magic smoke from one place to another.

This hasn’t been a thing for many decades. I wonder if they’ll ever shake this old meme.

I love everything about it except the price, and the name. Mostly because I can’t afford one. Also the -PACE thing is awkward, they’re not pace cars, it reminds me of Pace-brand salsa, and it’s not creative. Why not something feline, or British, or inspirational?

Which ones are uglier?! They’re still some of the handsomest cars on the road, and they’ve lost the awkward elements like the old XK’s absurdly long (but shapely) rear. Sure the F-PACE’s grille is a tad high, and the XJ’s black D-pillar is weird, but nothing to kick out of the garage over.

Seriously! Like some drunk marketing person was reading about Boaty McBoatface and said “let’s name all of our cars something-something-face”, the crusty old CEO thought he said “pace” and here we are.

Came here for this, was disappointed. Fixed it though.
