Wow. That’s shockingly similar to how my cavalier looked after I was T-boned about ten years ago. Except the main point of impact was the left rear wheel, everything in front of the dash was fine. Everything behind me however was absolutely destroyed. It was even a coupe, of the same generation.

Glad no one died.
Fascinating just how much safety technology evolved since the cav was being sold. Could the driver have walked away almost entirely unscathed in a newer car with side airbags and better structure? Quite possibly. Especially as if they were in the modern chevy equivalent, it would have been a sedan, not a coupe.
