I’ve been tipped off about a Saab 95 that needs rescuing. Abandoned restoration project, disassembled and stripped for painting so cannot be towed, must be trailered. It needs to be removed from the property by the middle of next week or it is going to the scrapper. It is rust free and straight, and free to whoever will pick it up.
I will be looking at it tomorrow as well as picking up a bunch of spare parts that will also be going to the junk yard if nobody wants them. I don’t really need another 95, but it’d be shame for it to be crushed.
Anybody want the car, or want to help in recovering it?

Is renting a truck/trailer out of the question?

No. But I’d still need a second person to help load/unload the car from the trailer. Unfortunately everybody I know is either out of town or busy with SXSW nonsense.

That sucks, can’t they see that you’re on the a mission of mercy?

I want it, but I live multiple states away, so it’s unlikely.

I’ll have to assess how much work it needs. it is basically in kit car form right now from the pic I’ve seen, so I don’t really blame them for just wanting to send it to the scrap yard - but it’s already prepped for paint and a has had rust repaired, so it seems like a waste of a good shell for somebody. My problem wouldn’t be putting it together, but making sure I can find/grab all the parts around the barn before they get thrown away. But if I save it, I’d be happy to pass it on to whoever can do the work...
It could make an awesome Lemons project.

I really want a driver, so this probably isn’t for me.
