Not for the first time.
got a gap issue.
fat part of thumb is a unit of measurement.
so is “fuck you bathroom counter!”
fixed it with this. the wedge your tow truck driver uses to unlock your car. then I used outdated gps transponders and antennas as shims under the cabinets. Not sure if it was a good or bad thing that the thing holding them is place the most is gravity. Bonus: in top right of last picture is a leather Cadillac owner’s manual pouch. its a nice thing to keep your cables etc in.

I’ve cleaned things with automotive products before. They are usually pretty gentle and I know how they work because I use them a lot.
Leather is leather/metal is metal.
That being said, I would never use non car cleaners on the car. Good way to destroy your paint or damage your interior.

DEET bugspray will peel the colour off your plastic interior bits. put it on outside. but the same thing on a rag will take some of the yellow off cloudy headlights.

did you check carfax? It looks like that bathroom had been rear-ended. If it’s not reported, I would talk to previous owner about getting some money back.
Side question - is the floor uneven? Why the fuck is that gap so big? Is the house settling...in china?

It goes Deeper than that. that sink drains into what was the original toilet main. which in the 70's they built a wall on top of it with cabinets on both sides. there is a placer in my basement where a water supply line for same bathroom makes 3 right turns instead of a left.

DEET will also mess up glasses/sunglasses lenses (which are polycarbonate) and plastic frames and also a lot of synthetic clothing. The diluted stuff isn’t so bad, but the 100% stuff can cause issues.
I like picaridin better anyway these days.
