Baja

I’m always frustrated when I see a Baja. When they were new, I wasn’t in a position to buy one. That at I can afford a new car, they don’t make them anymore. I know, I could buy used, but there’s something comforting about being the original owner of something.

It’s not the popular mantra here, but there is something special about the new car feel.

I love that color, and it came in a turbo version...with a manual...

People down the road from me have at least 2 Bajas. His license plate says “BAJA MAN” and hers says “BAJA WMN.”
I say at least because they have a long driveway and the house isn’t visible from the road. I’ve only seen them rolling around town and once I saw BAJA MAN pulling out of the driveway.

To be fair, I remember these being fantastically expensive at the time (relative to the non-bedded competitors)

And you might as well go hunting for unicorns instead of trying to find one of them with a turbo and a manual

I’ve driven a turbo baja. It was quite fun! Sadly it was an automatic but either way I enjoyed the vehicle. Definitely found it quite practical for a ski trip with 4 people plus gear. Everything fit comfortably and it champed through mountain roads enjoyably.

They’ve retained their value very well, too. Especially the ones with body color body cladding
