Awaiting reply from seller as to if they will work with overseas buyer. It’s for sale at a motorcycle dealership...
For shipping a (the one pictured above) 1992 Lada Niva 1600 with 21K kilometers from door to port (Galdakao Spain to Newark NJ) via flatbed/RoRo... $1340. Above pictured low miles, low rust Niva is listed for sale at €1950 (~$2400).
Will I follow through?
I wish I knew someone who could take a look at it... the pictures look decent, but we all know those can lie... I also doubt that its really only got 20K on it, but the ad says “super low kilometers!” so maybe it’s for real... even if it’s turned over 100 and is actually 120K it’s looks damn clean inside...
I know that seat material wears like iron, but it’s awfully clean in there... looks like it has a modern(ish) stereo too...

I’m in Northern Vermont, Sherbrooke or Granby would be better... Also from Quebec it’s probably Rusty as hell... And even after all of that it’s too new. :P I suppose I could drive it illegally for three years and hope I don’t get cought, but I live in a small town, word travels fast.

If you pay for airline tickets (€250?), a night or two in a hotel, a cheap rental car and set everything up with the seller I’m sure you can persuade one of the Euro people here to fly over there. Total costs, maybe €400 or $500, max? Hell, I’d be tempted to do so myself, I wouldn’t require anything financially other than costs. Don’t speak a word of Spanish though and my last experience with a Lada was as a kid on the back seat of a VAZ2105.

Ask for photos of the wells in the cargo area behind the back wheels. Ask for photos of the shock mounts. Ask for photos of the rear window seals and the hatch seal plus all the pinch weld seals on the rear hatch. If they are all as good as the interior then go right ahead....
