I was having a pretty good day. Drove the Sunchaser to work, 75 and sunny. Dropped off Toby at home at lunch time, and hopped on the Vespa to fill up my new gas can. Fueled the scooter, and headed back to the office. Suddenly...

Ok, that was a little dramatic, but there was a loud bang. Then the bike starting sounding like the exhaust fell off, which it did. Somehow, it came apart at the flange under the bike. I will need to Jack it up for a better look. Shit.

Have some Sunchaser in the sun for your trouble.

So what you’re saying is, you have a straight piped Vespa. This does not seem like a problem.

I didn’t work today and I’m off tomorrow too. So I went drinking with some pals: we did a st pattys day challenge at a local bar so I just drank a Guinness, a “mini Guinness” a pint of Smithwicks, an Irish Car Bomb, a “green tea shot” a shot of Bushmills.

Is it carbureted? Sounds like you dumped a bunch of fuel into the engine and it blew the exhaust off. Forget to close the petcock while refueling perhaps?
