In my bouts of Netflix/Marvel series binge-watching, I have, of course, noticed the car placements. When I was watching Daredevil, everyone drove a Genesis. Funny to see a police detective driving a brand new luxury Korean car, but hey.
Then, I watch The Iron Fist (don’t judge me), and everyone was driven around exclusively in Lincolns. Now, I’m into the second season of Jessica Jones, and all of a sudden, everyone who drives in the show has a Toyota. The morning talk show host has an Avalon, and the super-high powered attorney character drives...a Camry. Not a Lexus, but a Camry. Weird placement there.
The title character herself doesn’t drive. What’s weird is that, in spite of her being a worn-jeans-wearing, iPhone-toting chick in her thirties with lingering elements of her goth teenage years, she always takes cabs everywhere. I thought everyone in that demographic does Uber or Lyft now.

There were 5 4Runners in Black Panther.

I love that you counted.

Black Panther was a Toyota commercial, but in a good way

Very few trailers would make me want a Toyota, but this would be one of them.

Very few movies have made me want a 4runner as much as this one did. Andy Serkis’ 4runners were perfect.

I just started season 2 last night. I swear the lawyer picked up the party in a LS460 but yeah it was a Hyundai Genesis last season for the cops and the talk show host. Netflix has done a great job with all of these movies anyhow. This is the only but I have not seen but started working on Agents of Shield(surprise there are more Toyotas).

The phone which was heavily featured in Get Out was a Windows phone. In 2017, after Microsoft had long since given up on Windows phones!

Maybe she did. I recall a day scene where she definitely had a Camry. She could have both, although I don’t know why anyone living in the city alone would have more than one car.
I haven’t seen Agents of Shield yet. The most obvious product series was Viper back in the 90s. Remember that one?

That’s funny, and curious.

I just got into the Marvel stuff since my wife works 3 nights a week and I get bored. I was born in ‘94 so no Viper for me.

You didn’t miss too much, except it was cool stuff for young kids.

Jessica, despite always being broke, had Tincup whiskey when there are a ton of cheaper choices?

Priorities, man. Priorities

She seems to make a lot of questionable economic choices for someone so low on cash. Getting drunk in bars, for instance. Very expensive.
I was just thinking there don’t seem to be a lot of obvious liquor product placements on the show, but sometimes there are. One guy specifically talked about breaking out the McCallan, 18 vs. 25 year.

The cheapest bar I know does 2 dollar shots of bourbon during happy hours otherwise it usually costs me 4-6 dollars per shot at other bars.

Isn’t she kind of low key flush in season 2? The first episode makes a point of her having more work than she can really handle.

I work in a microsoft building, at one point one, a weed whacker threw a rock at a window shattering it (but it stayed standing thanks to safety glass.) Regardless, it didn’t get fixed for like 3+ months.
Lesson learned: Microsoft is really bad at fixing windows.
