Kinja'd!!!

Sorry for taking up so much of the sidebar lately, Oppo.

Over the past few days, Kinja’s been periodically displaying thumbnails for my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! articles on the side there. Turns out the Initial D one was linked in a recent !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! article, but I don’t know what to make of the brake line one. Maybe it’s getting passed around some forums or something? Who knows. I’m just glad people are enjoying them.

Anyway, new !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! roundup tomorrow, as usual. Coming up on a year now that I’ve been doing those posts (my, how time flies). Weekend wrenching update on Monday, too. The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is coming along slowly, but surely.

Also, I’m thinking about starting up a new series- I want to generate some discussions about precision in everyday driving, where we talk in obsessive detail about trying to trying to find the perfect way to do very specific things. Like the best time to activate a turn signal, or why the stop line may or may not be the best place to stop at an intersection. I want to look into the different factors that influence how one technique might be perfect for one situation, but another one might work better in others.

Let me know what you think. Shoutout to the mods for giving a boost to some of my posts during Embiggen Days, and thanks to all of you for putting up with me. Drive safe out there, and don’t let Daylight Saving Time mess you up too much.

One ethical question for EXISTENTIAL OPPO. If you’re at a backed up stop sign, that turns on to a road with no stop sign or light. You’re the 2nd or 3rd car back. There’s a long break in the traffic allowing multiple cars to leave easily. Do you stop at the stop sign or no? This is of course assuming you have good viability from where you were before the break in traffic.

Although legally the answer is obviously no, ethically can you say that it’s ok to go without stopping at the sign, since you could see it was clear from where you were while you were stopped? Plus the stop sign is backed up so it’ll help get more angry drivers thorough without trouble.

Pitch: Over Rev!! anime adaptation, but this time it focuses on hillclimb and tarmac rally events, culminating in three “Boss” races: Targa Tasmania, Pikes Peak International Hillclimb and St. Ursanne Les Rangiers, plus a fanservice special at Goodwood.

Let’s take that even further: ALL stop signs should be yield signs.

Think about it- Right-of-way would still work the exact same way, and in many cases, yes, you would find yourself having to actually stop while waiting for your turn. But it would no longer be illegal to roll through an empty intersection late at night with no other cars around.

Good topic; I like it.

I’m still proud of that quick photoshop I did with the solenoid in the brake line article.

It looked exactly like the Oppo steering wheel!
