This one has dealer tags front and rear.
All in a morning’s drive to work.

Grounded to cinder blocks!

Either that or they both had aftermarket wheels that were worth something (or at least worth something in the mind of the thief).

Or a junk tire, even better! Cinder blocks are heavy, man

Man, I just noticed that. Junk tires...NICE

I know of rent-a-wheel places that will leave cars like this after they’ve repossessed someone’s rimz when they fell behind on the weekly payments. Not leaving the lug nuts just seems like a dick move, though.

Here in N.W. Ohio, with the roads in such poor condition, the number of cars with damaged rims has gone up dramatically. I was at the salvage yard last week, and they had lots of OEM rims lined up and priced between $50 - $200+, depending on age and size of the wheel. So, yep, new car rims would fetch a pretty penny for a slightly shady seller.

If I had a Honda with the directional wheels, I’d be happy if they were stolen.

I wouldn’t have a Honda.

Upper trim levels of new Accords and Camrys have wheels that are desirable in the secondhand market for older/crappier versions of those cars, plus all the other cars they fit on. Easy to steal and quickly flip on Craigslist or other places.

I’ve never seen a car with the wheels stolen. To me, it’s like a (literal) urban legend from the movies — right up there with Times Square flashers.
Wow. Bold.

that one is not the directional, most likely they were sport wheels

But two of them? In one day? Within the same mile of street?
Never a dull drive to work.

Flashers or wheel thieves? :P

I can believe it, who’d want the directional wheels? They make me cringe.

I generally prefer Accovics to Camrollas.

It’s Crazy Street. If you look up Whitman Street in Hayward, California, you can see that it’s several miles long and only limited access and up against a commuter train track. Perfect for racing and dumping cars. And driving like buttholes...

jeez, i’ve only seen one car like that and that was a couple of years ago

I gotta say, the front end of that Camry actually looks hot af.
