Gearing up to do a track day which would’ve happened at the end of last year’s season had my ZX-6R not been stolen. My Shoei GT-Air is a great street helmet that has a drop-down sun visor so that means it only meets DOT specs and not ECE, making it track-ineligible. I went shopping and tried on a few Icon and HJC lids but they didn’t fit me so well. I also wanted to save a few bucks on this purchase so tried to stay away from Shoei or Arai. Walking around, I spot this thing. Zox? What is this, a helmet for Dr. Seuss characters? Turns out the company has a larger presence in Europe but is moving into NA as well. The salesperson told me it’s a solid helmet and it was in fact quite comfortable. On sale at $225 Canuck bux + tax? Hi-viz accents? Obnoxious ‘Z’ that I want to remove? Sold. Now the countdown to May 4 begins... see you there, Peter.

Never heard of ZOX. Always wanted one of those AGV Valentino Rossi special edition ones but they’re so fucking expensive

I guess it’s akin to paying much more for a branded team or player jersey as opposed to a regular one. Same thing but looks way cooler. If you’re a dedicated fan it’s the thing to have.

The Z simply means that you like Z cars, duh.

Imagine replacing the Zox ‘Z’ with a Nissan ‘Z’. The subtlest of subtle trolling.

My head wouldn’t fit in an HTC 5xL full face. I have to eat bugs and death unprotected.
