The little one was upset that she couldn’t go with her mom and big sister to kindergarten prep class tonight. I picked her up to calm her down, gave her a few options. She was crying and freaking out a bit. I concluded she must need to go to bed.
Then she stammered out, “Can we watch Roadkill?”
Yes ... Yes we can. I let her stay up an hour past bedtime watching two full episodes, plus an Extra episode and a bit of Finnegan’s Garage ... I couldn’t say no!

I haven’t sprung for Motortrend on demand yet, so I only see what makes it to YouTube.

I think I have successfully brainwashed my two little nephews (3 and 5?) into liking race cars, mainly F1 and super cars . So now every time they come over they want to watch race cars. They will both sit on my lap at my desk and just watch race cars make noises. It’s adorable.
I have also taught them not to touch my cars =]. “Oh that’s kwain’s (they can’t pronounce my name yet) car, we can’t touch that.” They also call my cars race cars, it’s awesome.

I’m working on it!
Her big sister lost her little mind when she saw the IndyCars on the cover of the Road America season schedule. She wants me to take her there.

My daughter used to want to watch “cars” (Roadkill) with me, but she always liked “trucks” (Dirt Every Day) better. Then she discovered kids shows, and that was somewhat the end of that. Also probably because I don’t watch them as much anymore when the kids are up because they want to play. But she still likes going out to the garage with me, and makes her hands “dirty like daddy’s”, so there’s still hope.
Also, I picked up a new lawnmower Sunday, my wife didn’t come home until around 8pm, started to get her ready for bed when she asked to go see the new mower, an old Ford. Even though she’s already in her pajamas, we still went out to the garage (I have to go outside to get to it). How can you say no when they’re as excited about it as you are?

That’s great! I couldn’t have said no to that either.
My older one has mostly lost interest in Roadkill, but she’s bugging me to take her to Road America now, so that’s cool. The season schedule showed up in the mail the other day, and she got really excited when she saw the IndyCars on the cover.
The little one grabbed my hand this morning, when I was about to leave for work and said, “Lets watch more Roadkill,” while she tried to drag me towards the TV. I wish kid, I wish. :)
