Hit and run while we were at dinner.

“Luckily” it was pretty obvious someone backed out of my neighbor’s driveway and into my car. Neighbor gave the police the phone number of the person who was over, officer caller her, she “didn’t notice” anything but checked her car and OH LOOK AT THAT...

I got her insurance info and the officer ran the tags to confirm it, so at least there is that.

Damage to the car could be worse. Limited to just the door, but the door skin will almost certainly have to be replaced, probably the mirror mechanism too.

Say what you will, overall I am really impressed with Tulsa PD so far. This guy went above and beyond saying “oh that sucks” with only slight prodding, and I’ve had generally good interactions before this.

If there’s any silver lining, it could have been your Saab or Alfa; at least the Volvo will still have easy-access replacement parts and a larger group of people who can competently fix it.

At this point I am thinking we need to completely reconsider how we park the cars. We’ve lived here for a little over five years and never had a problem, but in the last couple of months the Volvo, Jeep, and Disco have been hit.

Not really. One was sideswiped by what looked to be a work/ gardening truck in a hit and run, though that guy actually might not have noticed. The other two were backed into by different people coming out of different driveways. I’m definitely going to prioritize spots that are nearer my driveway from now on.

RIGHT? Five years and no issues, but in the last three/ four months we’ve had three of our cars hit. Two backing out of driveways and one sideswiped. How hard is it to not hit parked cars?

this is why i never park directly opposite of a driveway. also because i backed into my neighbors car across the street after getting my license and i felt terrible about it lol
