My home internet service. Download is usually over 900 Mbps, not sure why it’s so slow tonight.

For some reasons I can’t find an appropriate server to test my home internet speed correctly... I’m usually over 900 both ways...
EDIT: found a slightly better one... Still slower than normal

The problem with gigabit symmetrical internet is that it’s really hard to find a speed test server that can keep up. This is the best result I could get from nearby servers at this time.

The joys of rural life. FTTP is coming, so should get up to 300Mbps or so.
It’s handy having a large 4g data plan.

Don’t be tempted. We now have fttn and get 25/5. Same as fixed wireless we had before...

try the one hosted directly on Verizons servers
in theory it should be quicker as it shouldn’t be making as many hops.

Although I’m starting to suspect it’s my router’s fault rather than my ISP.

Municipal gigabit fiber service, as bhtooefr said. $60/month, no data caps.

Longmont’s setup is one of the first of its kind, and I genuinely think it’s the answer to the dismantling of net neutrality and anti-competitive ISP companies like Comcast.
I really hope it catches on throughout the rest of the country.
